The Stockholm 1972 concerns, of the developed country’s priority being “Environment” and the developing country’s priority being “Development” need to be at the core of a global partnership for sustainable development, beyond the pervasive self-interest and Nationalism that has inhibited progress over the last 50 years. Unless the world community comes together as one, 2052 may be the moment we lose the battle to secure the sustainable future of Peace, Progress, and Prosperity of the Homo Sapiens species and put at risk the survival of millions of plants and animal species that inhabit Planet Earth.
What are the barriers to a Sustainable World in harmony with Nature? What will be the consequences of in-actions? What are the imperatives for actions 2022-2052 to change the course of the 1972-2022 history of failures of Sustainable Development Agendas?
To celebrate the 1992 Rio UNCED and Earth Summit, we are producing an Earth Odyssey documentary film, “Changemakers for a Sustainable World”, for worldwide release at the Rio+30 Celebrations in Brazil, in October 2022.
We will host five webinars, from 4th to 14th July 2022, and record the participation of different action changemakers from all over the world. These statements will be edited, with other original content related to the themes, to be part of the documentary film.
We especially seek panelists, with commitment and innovative action ideas, often ‘unseen’ and “unheard” in the hierarchy of “normal” decision-making groups that since 1972 have been discussing agendas of sustainable environment and development, invariably without the commitment of financial resources and implementation actions.
In each of the 5 webinars, there are specific participating groups voicing their views on 2022-2052 essential actions with reference to Human Rights, Nature Rights Consumption Patterns/Lifestyles, and School of Life Education-Knowledge in the context of the following core Themes,
- Human Rights, Value systems and lifestyles: Ethics-Morals-Respect, Consumption-Production Patterns, Knowledge-Wisdom
- Nature Rights, ECOCIDE: Environment-Ecosystems, Pollution-Waste
- Means of Actions: Financial, Science-Technology, Participation-Partnerships, Institutions-Decision Making
- Priority Actions: Integrated Development-Environment, Mobilizing Commitments and Actions by Citizens, Governments, Businesses, Civil Society
The outcomes of the Five Webinars, the recorded voices, and creative ideas of Panel Members and Discussants for strategic real actions over the period 2022-2052 will be incorporated in the EARTH ODYSSEY documentary film.
