Humanity is at a defining moment in time. Across the world we have experienced a year of fear, suffering and tragedies of COVID-19 in combination with economic meltdowns and destitution. It is time we embraced compassion, caring, empathy and respect for our One Human World and One Nature World. Societal conflicts, Environmental exploitation, Economic disparity and Unilateralism are on the rise and will put our future and that of generations to come on the brink. The challenge ahead is to educate and mobilize citizens worldwide to respect and protect Nature.
We at Earth Odyssey propose 14 June annually as a Global Citizens International Day of Nature as a step towards a Universal Declaration of Nature Rights.

It is not easy to be a Humane Being. Our actions hurt People, Out actions hurts Nature. Is it our era of Materialism, Greed, and Power to blame. Of some 196 Nations, the fate & future of 7.7 billion is driven by the rich & powerful, the 37 members of the OECD ruling the roost; How long for, given COVID19 Nationalism and the mutations to come for decades ahead?
For too long the world community has relied on Political & Business leaders to make a difference, beyond their dominating focus on Self-interests, Re-election & Profits. Without citizen movements, the future looks bleak & may not be secured.
United Nations at its founding in 1945, “committed to maintaining international peace & security, developing friendly relations among nations & promoting social progress, better living standards & human rights”. But the UN has become a forum of Governments, for example declaring the 174 International Days on pressing issues.
In this 21st Century, is it not time to give a voice to the “Nations”, meaning peoples of the world? For they are the eyes, ears, minds & hearts on the ground to report the violations of Human & Nature Rights?
